The Vital State

Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information The Vital State collects when you use thevitalstate.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it plainly. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@thevitalstate.com.

1. Who we are

The Vital State ("we", "us") is an independent wellness publication at thevitalstate.com. We write about the biology of feeling well and recommend a small number of products.

We are an affiliate of MarketPlace Global. When you buy a product we recommend, you complete the purchase on MarketPlace Global's own website, and we may earn a commission. We never see or handle your payment details.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment card details, and we do not ask for health information. Purchases are handled entirely by MarketPlace Global.

3. How we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade our lists.

4. Text messages

If you enter your mobile number, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from The Vital State about our guide and the products we recommend. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties. We only share your mobile number with the service providers that send our messages on our behalf.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site. They process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy. They fall into these categories:

If you would like to know which specific providers we use, email hello@thevitalstate.com and we will tell you.

MarketPlace Global. When you click through to buy, you leave our site. We do not send them your details. Anything you give them is covered by MarketPlace Global's own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or restructure of our business.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to keep our analytics working, to recognise returning visitors, and to measure our ads. These are set by our analytics provider and by the Meta Pixel.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage how Meta uses your information for ads in your Meta ad preferences. Blocking cookies will not stop the site from working.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, and our site does not currently change its behaviour when it receives one.

7. Where it is stored

We are based in Australia, but our service providers store and process information overseas. Your information is held mainly in the United States and South Korea. We choose established providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Australian privacy law, but by using the site you acknowledge your information will be handled outside your own country.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you stay subscribed or in contact with us. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record that you opted out so we do not contact you again. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we need to keep something to meet a legal obligation. Analytics data is kept for as long as it is useful for improving the site.

9. Your choices and rights

We offer these choices to everyone, wherever you live. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honour them.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are in Australia and we cannot resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections across the site and a database that visitors can write sign-ups to but cannot read. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Our site and the products we recommend are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let subscribers know by email.
